HOW TO GET INVOLVED:

2. DONATE DIRECTLY TO #CookForUkraine to https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/cookforukraine (suggested $30 or more/person) 

3.REGISTER via this event page and let us know donation value when prompted.  You will immediately recieve a Zoom login info and  a link to download the recipe. (check your spam for an email from "Wix notifications" or "Dumplings 4 FREEDOM")

THE EVENT:

Join Adrian & Chris for a virtual dumpling cookalong class to raise money for #CookForUkraine, a campaign set up in aid of the children and families affected by the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In this 1.5 hr class, you will learn to make dumpling wrapper dough, 2 fillings (meat and pork), a variety of folding styles, and of course how to cook them.  These recipes are based on both Chinese Siu Mai (Shu Mai) and Ukrainian Manty and Varenyky, a testament to the universality of dumplings across borders.  Dumplings are Family and we fight for family. The class will be recorded so if you are unable to attend on the day, you can watch the video later. This is a cooking class using the Zoom platform.

TO DONATE:

We would like to request a donation of $30 or more per person but of course no one will be turned away for lack of funds.  Any amount helps.

PLEASE MAKE YOUR DONATIONS TO #COOKFORUKRAINE BEFORE REGISTERING FOR THIS CLASS at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/cookforukraine.  You can then register for the class via this page. Be sure to let us know how much you donated for the final tally. All proceeds collected by #CookForUkraine will be directed to UNICEF UK’s Ukraine appeal, supporting children and families.

Once you have registered, you will immediately receive an email with the class Zoom info and the link to download the recipe.  If you think you haven't recieved the emails, check your spam first, then email us if they are still not there.

#CookForUkraine started off as an idea between friends with a mutual love of food and a desire to help those in need. Little did they know that a simple hashtag would lead to the beginnings of a global movement…

OUR MISSION

#CookForUkraine aims to increase awareness of the humanitarian crisis the world faces right now, as well as raise the funds needed to aid children & families in Ukraine who have been displaced by the current situation.

Since its inception, hundreds of people from different backgrounds and nationalities have reached out and shown their solidarity by joining this initiative – including top chefs, award-winning food writers, restaurant owners and home cooks – cooking, baking and sharing Ukrainian and Eastern European inspired dishes at their restaurants with their guests, at home with their friends and across social media with their family and followers.

All proceeds will be directed to UNICEF UK’s Ukraine appeal, supporting children and families.
