About the Event

MORIHOUSE Breakfast Club is a 1-hour virtual Asian-American Heritage Cooking class and supperclub set amidst the peace and quiet of the early morning- the perfect backdrop for a mindful approach to preparing a nourishing East Asian-style breakfast for you and your household.

On Sunday morning June 27th, 2021,  you will join Adrian virtually in our kitchen at 8am PST as he guides you in making one of our favorite breakfast spreads:

Dashi Scrambled Eggs with Chives, Salt-pickled Root Vegetables (spicy and non-spicy), Leafy Greens Stir Fry with Sea Salt, Katsuo (mackerel) or Shiitake Broth and, of course, a pot of steamed rice.

June's menu is created in observance of the 5 colors of Chinese philosophy to create an aesthetically pleasing and balanced meal.

Our breakfast menus are simple, easy to make, but also diverse and inspired by 五行 (wuxing), the five principles of Chinese philosophy as experienced though the senses, colors and flavors. The dishes are tailored to use ingredients which are easy to find at most western grocery stores and farmer's markets.  Suggested alternatives will be given for rare specialty ingredients.

All dishes containing meat also include vegan alternatives.

Those of you who have taken one of Adrian's cooking classes before know that this is a community based class for members and friends of the Asian and Pacific Islander community.  Please come as you are and know that MORIHOUSE supperclubs are FAMILY meals. All are welcome.

Class is scheduled for 1 hour but may go overtime.  Please allow an extra 30 minutes just in case.

Classes will be recorded so you can cook along on the day or re-watch the demonstration and try the recipes later.

Upon registering you will receive a virtual zoom link for the class as well as a recipe pdf for you to read before class.

Tickets are based on a sliding scale so you can choose a price which works for you.

Please email us directly for BIPOC scholarship discounts and specials at adrian@mori.house.
